I love fall. It is by far my most favorite season of all. First, usually it is a nice and welcome contrast to the hot summer days. As crisp air begins to come, so do the brilliant colors of the leaves. I love the aroma of fires burning from area homes, and the warmth of the tones. I love crisp leaves that crackle beneath the feet on a long walk and the excitement that the holidays are just upon us.

I love the color variation in this picture.

This sweet little statue made for a wonderful subject at the library garden.

The Memorial Library in Bonne Terre, MO. I instantly loved the old style of this library. I had to be patient and wait for a mornign to photograph it so there werent cars in front. What a beautiful morning it was. The sky was so brilliantly blue which made for a wonderful contrast to the fall colors.

This photo turned out quite nice as I used my manual focus to capture the depth of field. This is using my 50mm/f1.8 fixed lens. It is my new favorite.

This picture was taken at St Francois State Park . It is along my drive to school following highway 67 just north of Bonne Terre, MO. I still marvel at seeing the rock and hills. Such a different and more magnificent view than Indiana and it's flat lands.

Something about roads just leave the viewer open to think. Is it a journey? Is it a destination? It is solemn and peaceful to look down. I love the natural tunnel the trees form over the road. This picture was also taken in St Francois State Park.

Bonne Terre,MO. This is a little memorial park in the town square. I loved the contrasting colors in the foliage.

Honored- Baby Austin arrives

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is the sweetness of babies. Amanda had Austin yesterday. He was perfect with his little feet and his little hands, so tiny. It is hard for me to remember mine that little. I was honored to be able to take these few shots of the new mom with baby.

I drive by this every day on my way to work/school. It is an area of rock where a hill was cut away to make the road. Well, i noticed as fall came upon us that the ivy on the rock was in a heart formation. I knew I had to photograph this now or i might lose the opportunity later as winter approached. I am so glad I did. It isn't often we see a natural formation and to me, this was just beautiful. Location: Fenton, Mo.

The minute I drove by this mine, I knew I had to photograph it. It is an amazing structure. this is an old lead mine. It closed in 1988. This year is the 20th aniversary of it's closing. Now itis a protected historic site.

Back door of the caboose.

This was an old rusted out Union Pacific Caboose that was next to a warehouse on the other side of the depot. I loved how aged it looks. I could post a million more pictures, but i will stick to the few I post.

I loved the old lamps. their design is fabulous.
I instantly fell in love with the phone booth. Of course it looks like the ones in Engand, but I loved how it is yellow. I took close to 25 shots of the phone booth alone, from many angles, and this one was my absolute favorite.

I so missed a great opportunity for a fabulous shot. This morning while walking out of work (it was a very thick fogggy morning) The fog had begun to lift. I looked up from my car and was stunned by the amazing beauty of this perfectly formed spider web spanning about 2 1/2 feet between several branches. The spider (a very big one) was right smack dab in the middle. Dew outlined every length of silk spun. It was gorgeous. The dew made it shimmer. I sat in awe, heartbroken that I did not have my camera with me. One doesn't get to witness such beauty in nature very often. I will carry it from now on. I only hope in the next few mornings I get to get one more chance to snap a picture of this web. The fall foliage is developing quite nicely now too. I hope to get out and about and photograph some of the ozark mountains in their fall splendor. also, I have discovered an old lead mine by my school which I hope to get some pictures of. I love fall. This time of year is my absolute favorite time of year. I love the crisp air, decreased humidity and color. OK, enough for now.

This shoot was initially for Austin to signify his graduation into middle school. We ended up making it a nice family shot. I love the railroad tracks for these pictures. It captures the essence of the journey.

Trish is my friend who had her girls 6 days after Logan and Connor. She was 25 weeks, and sadly after 9 days, they hads to say goodbye to Sophia. Ava is her surviving twin. Here is Trish pregnant with her second set of twins. She is 30 weeks in these pictures and I believe she carried them to 35 weeks ( I may be wrong).

So these pictures were taken last year, but I loved these pictures. They were my first official photo shoot in St Louis. Amy and Mike have become good friends. They are are wonderful family and full of fun. Abby babysits for the duo form time to time.

Often, I look up a tree and am amazed by it's majestic beauty. Well, I decided to capture some of that beauty while working on my depth of field. I love how the view is up the trunk. I found a large tree with a very straight trunk. this was taken in Kirkwood park. Kirkwood, MO.

Hot air balloons

A favorite thing from my childhood was being able to see the hot-air balloons go over our house for the balloon race Ft. Wayne used to have. I remember that tell-tale "whoosh" sound they made as the flames shot up to fill the balloon. I love the balloons. They are so mystical, how they float freely in the air and look so light and airy. They add spectacular color to the sky. I have missed it. So moving to St Louis, I was happy to learn that they still have a race here. The balloons have been up flying lately and I managed to capture a few shots of them.
